A Star Has Burnt My Eye was created by Howard Fishman during immersive research into the life of obscure outsider musician, Connie Converse. The piece had workshop showings at venues including Abrons Arts Center, Joe’s Pub and The Brick and premiered as part of BAM’s Next Wave Festival, November 9th-12th, 2016.

For its BAM premiere, playwright/performer Howard Fishman was accompanied by cast members Charlotte Mundy, Jean Rohe and Nicholas Webber. Creative team members included Director Paul Lazar, Dramaturg James Harrison Monaco, Set and Costume Designer Christopher Heilman, Lighting Designers Megan Estes and Megan Lang, Sound Designer David Margolin Lawson, Production Manager Tanner Simpson and Stage Manager Nic Adams. Co-Producers Jennifer Conley Darling and Sandra Garner.

A Star Has Burnt My Eye most recently toured to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, Castleton University in Castleton, VT and to Vermont Art Exchange in Bennington, VT in December 2017.
